Research Projects
ICASA's research is characterized by the study of dynamical
systems, control theory, mathematical physics, and economics using the tools
of theoretical analysis, modeling, and simulation. ICASA's researchers study
the additive effects of efficient design in complex interdependent systems.
Work is conducted in four strategic areas: basic research on complex additive
systems; applications to real-world problems in the private and public sectors;
development of key enabling technologies to assist in applying research results;
and establishing training and education programs.

Computer
Networks
The computer network research efforts seek new and innovative methods to
better understand computer networks by studying their behaviors, vulnerabilities,
and interactions.

Financial
Systems
An interdisciplinary team has developed a three-phase model of the currency
market price-formation process to assess the trade behavior on prices and
bid-ask spreads. Researchers have also developed a model of the US wholesale
power trader market. Point of Contact: Dr.
